Pearl;
I understand and totally agree with Patrick...sometimes (especially when you're not under time-pressure to have it functional come monday morning) this is fun...to rejuvinate what other might go ahead and recycle! I'd just let it soak in the oil/penetrant cocktail of your choice for a week, then try again.
pushing the piston in with this a drift is fine, but how do you get it back out?...if you have another (half-way working) spare slave cylinder around, plumb it up (naturally, fluid and bleeding are required) so that a the hydraulic force of a hammer strike on the piston of the working one is transfered to the back side of the frozen one...you'd be surprised what magic hydraulic force is capable of!
When its finally apart and your rebuilding, seriously consider the o-ringing upgrade of the piston "dry-side"...its worked wonders for all my slaves!
Cheers
