Another benefit from keeping the oil/flame-trap in crank-vent-house cleaned is the typical little dripping of engine oil from the rear crank-seal.
The positive airflow as mentioned in my above explaination is very often course of what seems to be an untight crank-seal - again, try the little experiment with hosing the two crank-house-vent's up...
In most cases the original filter-seal is more than enough, the rubberseal-upgrade is often based on wrong service from a parts dealer..
