Rust! -how big an issue in US? 120-130

Hi! Happy Thanksgiving all!

I was wondering a little about how the 122's (or 120-220's in general!) are doing thru the years, in different places in the World.

In Denmark/Sweden we have a climate, that leaves a fall and winter with a lot af rain, snow and SALT on roads. Due to that, whenever we restore a 40 year old Volvo (even the fact, that NO car is as "common" as the Volvo's when passing 20 years) -we have to put a lot of work into body-work and restoring front-end and rear-end.
To give you an example, it is common that lower A-arms allready has been replaced at least once, front crossmember might need some welding, rear trailor-arms needs replacement and body needs quite some work and so on. (And all of that, is if car isn't too bad anyway!)

I was then just wondering how climate makes a difference? (Normal wear is of cause common I think).

I guess the hot places in US - gives a hole other approach to a restoring - California-cars imported here to Europe, doesn't seem rusty, but SURELY everything else is ruined from heat, buttons, interior and so are burned out..
