With all old 240s, it's a good idea to clean all the fuse contacts in the fusebox. That's the inside kick panel by the driver's left knee.
I remove all the fuses, disconnect the battery, and use a fine wire brush if they are quite corroded. Corrosion may be blue, white, or faint green. Often see white in there.
The clips can also be cleaned with fine emery paper, scotchbrite pads, or a big eraser to get nice shiny brass showing.
Replacing the fuses is a good idea at this time. Note what the values are and buy an assortment of fuses. CLean fuses and clean terminals will help!
