is it an auto or stick? Sometimes, the starter gets "locked" inside. It happened to me before. My mechanic told me to put my car in gear (stick) and rock it. It worked. Never happened to me again. Alternatively, you could also get a heavy metal rod and tap the started gently. Good luck.
