The coolant temp sensor was replaced in June 2003, along with the thermostat, antifreeze, radiator expansion tank cap, etc.. I will check the wiring to the temp sensor to make sure it it still intact.

Just strange that mileage has dropped so much in one week, along with a strong gas smell.
