I bought what I thought was a m410 trans w/OD. for my 1972 142s, however when I went to install it, the trans. itself is a bit larger than the regular 4spd. and the bell housing also is a bit larger in diameter than the original and won't bolt up. The splines on the input shaft also look different.
What transmission/OD do I have?
Is it from a 240 series maybe ...M46 maybe? How would I find out what it is?
another thing, the shifting rods that the gear changing forks ride on protrude out of the front of the transmission and into recesses in the bell housing,(there is a gasket between the transmission and the bell housing).
Any Ideas?
