Check engine light on. Yikes! S90-V90 1997

Yes, that is the only code.
I once had a code 302 which was a misfire on cyl 2. It only happened occasionally under heavy acceleration Upon inspecting the plugs that plug was slightly more worn than the others, changed plugs and all was well. This code however seems to say misfire on 2 or more cylinders, therefore my feeling is the cause is not a coil or a plug. It must be something common to all or some cylinders such a power stage or cam position sensor.

I suspect that igntion timing is set up in the computer based on signals from the cam postion sensor. What is the purpose of the RPM sensor? Does it play a role in the ignition timing as in our older LH2.4 cars?

Will be checking wiring and connectors this weekend.
