The overdrive works properly on this car, but my question is when should the pilot light be on?
I know the overdrive works only in fourth gear and the light is on as it should be at that time.
However, if I take it out of fourth without moving the switch to the "off" position, the light stays on (with no overdrive)until the switch is put in the "off" position. Logic makes it seem like the light should go out whenever the OD is disengaged, but that is not what it is doing.
In other words, the light is always illuminated whenever the switch is "on" regardless of gear position.
This may be proper operation, but without a 1967 owner's manual I can't tell.
Help!
