Yes, you can if you have a decent digital voltmeter, a propane or Mapp gas torch, and a bench vise.
Clamp the sensor body in the vise with sensor tip up.
Connect meter between sensor lead and vise (use 2.0 volt DC scale).
Apply torch flame to sensor tip while watching meter.
Good sensor will quickly produce up to 1.0 volt, maybe a bit more when tip glows red.
Watch for quick sensor responses (voltage swings) as flame is passed back and forth.
