Oxygen sensor testing-off car 700

Thanks everyone for your great responses.
I agree in principle with using new parts; everything I have put on this car so far has been new. The spare O2 sensor has been kicking around in a rear storage compartment since I bought the car, for possible emergency use, and I feel a bit like experimenting this weekend. If it is possible to prove the thing is junk (or not)without having to install it I figured that would be the way to go...
I will try the torch method tomorrow.
