V6 in a PV? 444-544

I know I'm probably beginning to sound like a cheering section for JohnMc but, unless I were going to do this for the fun of the project, I'd go the B-20 route - fuel injected or carbed . The hp level you're shooting for are attainable with some fairly reasonable modifications and hardly any, if any, drivetrain and body changes. Personally, I have some doubts about stuffing those horses into such a light car as a PV without investing a lot of time, effort, and money on suspension and brakes, but that may just be my fuddy-duddy approach to things.
