Hello,

On my 82 which I think is the same as your 83, there is an metalic colored stepper relay on the driver side just above the battery. On pin 56a there are 3 wires, 2 of which are red. The other wire is white-red which goes to the high beam indicator on the dash. The red wires go to each side of the headlights (left and right) and connect to a two wire connector behind the light assembly. The other wire is blue (low beam). If just the highs are out check for continuity on the red wire through the connector, since that would only effect the highs on both lamps on that side only. Hope that helps.
