looking for a 122 120-130

It wasn't until the mid/later 60's that most cars started coming with headrests as standard, and I think they came standard on the Amazon in Europe before the US, which is why the seats in some of the mid and later 60's amazons have the fittings in the back of the seat, but don't have the headrests. I doubt an amazon as old as the one you're looking at has the fittings already in the seats.

My $.02 is that you want to find a car that is as rust-free and needs as little body work as possible. The mechanicals are pretty simple, easy and fun to learn without needing much in the way of special tools, etc. Bodywork is another issue. Special tools, chemicals, space needs, etc.

Be aware that while owning and driving an old vehicle is fun and rewarding, it IS expensive in either time, money or often both. You will have to do work on the car and you will have to spend some money, probably more than you initially think, so factor generously when you're calculating what it's going to cost you. Having an old vehicle is as much a hobby as it is a means of transportation- if it's a hobby you're really into you don't mind spending the money so much.

You're young and probably excitable (not meant as a criticism- personally I think it's easy to get excited by old Volvos!), but when you go to check out the car try not to let excitement take over- give it a cool appraisal. Don't feel like you have to get this particular one or you won't find another- there are more out there, and you want to make sure you get a good one with a solid foundation. It's easy to find flaw after flaw and think, "Well, I can fix that.....I can fix that too....and that too....." and end up with a massive list of things that you'll need to fix. It's far better to spend a bit more for a car that has been well maintained that doens't need lots of things, has been kept updated, etc. than it is to get a car that has a lot of catching up to do unless you have restoration experience.

Anyway, that's my $.02- good luck, and if this amazon isn't the right one, the right one will come along eventually!
