Weird, weird start-up problem 200 1983

I would say a fuel delivery problem. Do you hear the pre-pump turn on for 5+ seconds (buzz sound from rear) when you turn the ignition switch to II position? Check the fuses to the fuel pumps. Check the fuel pump relay. When it revs 3500rpm or more does it run smoothly? Does it drive normally once you get it going?
