Yes, if you have replaced the relay and switch, the solenoid is the next part to change.
You are correct, you simply unbolt a solenoid, 2 socket-head bolts (6mm allen wrench I think) and unplug one wire.
CLEAN EVERYTHING before you remove a solenoid. You DO NOT want any dirt getting in the transmission, or in the new solenoid. Dirt can make even a new solenoid stop working. Spend an extra 10 minutes cleaning the transmission completely, and it will be well worth it.
Haynes book has a good suggestion: put cardboard up in the transmission tunnel over the transmission, so that no dirt can fall off the car body into the solenoid hole. Those English guys are smart, sometimes!
