Mark, the opinion, and experience, of many people here is that the roof rack may look good, but it acts bad. First, it is weak. (All show, no go?) Second, they typically cause rust in the areas under their mountings and slats where moisture can get trapped. Finally, who needs to drag around that wind resistance 100% of the time when you need use of the rack just 0.01% of the time?
Instead, hang an air freshener from your rear-view mirror. ;-)
And find a clip-on (your near-classic car has gutters) rack that suits you, new or used, economical or expensive, for bikes or luggage or lumber or...
