the bouble u-joint setup in the 74' 145 is at enough of an angle to colapse in and impact. the steering colum is designed for this setup. i realy do not want rubber in my steering any were. i run big tires some times. i do not want to lose steering at speed. lucky i was pulling into my drive way when it happened the other day. the u-joints in my 74' have lasted over 100,000 miles so a new set should be good for the next 30 years.
