Not being in the Volvo tech business, I go with what I know from experience or from info gleaned from sources I consider accurate, which includes this board.
The car which flooded is a 1986 244Gl B230F with LH-2.2. It flooded because it had senile ignition wires. New ones cured that problem. Other things yet to fix, of course.
My thought was that the pumps run just a weee bit when the key hits "Start" or Position III. Key back into Position II, or "Run" cuts off pumps unless the engine has caught. Also, the pumps get only a short time of running in III anyway. I don't know how long, or what does the timing.
I am always glad for corrections - good way to learn.
Regards,
Bob
