OD RELAY problem 740GL 700

I had the exact same problem and solved it by reflowing the solder on the relay board. I chose the "large" solder areas to reflow as they carry the most current. The other areas (pads) should be visually inspected for cracks or overheating conditions. You will need something more than a pencil-type iron to get the solder melted. I performed this repair over 6 months ago and have had no problems with the relay. Local Volvo dealer (St. Louis, MO) wanted $90 for a new one.
