This same apparent Volvo specialist basically said the ECU isn't interpreting the TPS signals correctly and is just dumping tons of fuel into the engine. He says my only option is to get a new computer from him that he will need to install himself. He claims you cant just put it in. Apparently there's somethign that needs to be calibrated.

I do agree with his ECU assessment, but disagree with him needing to 'calibrate' the ECU. I understand it as a plug and play device that will 'learn' after a few drives. Comments? Perhaps I can fix the ECU somehow?
