I also recommend against running all the headlight current through the IGN switch...if you want DRL or just the convenience of auto shut-off, both can be simply and effectively realized with a relay slaved off the IGN switch. Yes it is another item which can fail, but properly sized, a slave relay can be expected to be quite reliable....I wouldn't think twice about including it in a circuit like this.
