See http://www.volvoadventures.com/220spec.html The console is made of a wood frame with sides of upholstery board covered in carpet. The top with the gauges is sheet metal with thin foam and vinal glued on. The tunnel is sheet metal pop riveted in place with spray undercoating to seal out water. Black upholstery screws with washers hold the sides to the frame.
