Engine overheating... 700 1987

Good feedback, and interesting.What is idiotic regarding design, is the stupidity of temperature gauge. It shows "normal" even when overheated, then immediately goes beyond red, with no stops in between ?!
There is time to react regardless who is behind the wheel.
I had many of my other cars overheat, and it was NEVER catastrophic.
Simply pull off the highway, pop the hood, wait, and refill.
Later, find the root cause.
