Differential fluid? 140-160

80-90 gear oil is fine. If you can get a gasket it would be better.
You might be able to pull most of it out with a sucker (Looks like a cross
between a grease gun and a tire pump with a hose on one end and a T-handle
on the other) which would probably be better than removing the cover.
(I called it a "sucker" - I'm sure it has a better name.)
You can use the same device to put the new gear oil in, too.
