Great to hear it!
Hope it serves you well, and be sure to keep me and the board posted on how things go!
Did you replace the heater core and the tire? I always felt like those tires were not the most grippy--we just used them because they had good tread depth and were on the car when we got it. I always wanted to get some 740 turbo wheels and an LSD for it.
By the way, how has the engine been running? I worked out driveability/rough running issues in the EFI system on that car for at least two years (just ask Michael Yount...), and I was so pleased that finally, by the end, it ran like a new car. Still doing well? How about MPG? We never had it on the highway enough to get a real reading, but I imagined it would exceed 20 mpg with its tall gearing. I loved the way it would seem to lock down on the road when you set the cruise control at 75 mph. It seemed like it just wanted to run like that forever.
I miss that thing every day...it turned out to not be the right car for us, but I hope it will be for you. And, again, if you should ever run across something that you have a question about (a lot of the stuff I did on that car was not quite "by the book"--a fair bit of my own engineering was involved), absolutely post on here or drop me an email and I'll see if I can sort it out.
I am already getting ready for my next Volvo project, I miss my old car so much. Next one will be '81-'85 244 with a D24 turbodiesel and an M46 tranny. Won't zoom like the V8 did, but the straight-six sounds wonderful and it will get great MPG on vegetable oil.
