Thanks George and a converted wagon rated!

Ed - as george said, there are lots of small steps to take for more power out of a SBF, some singular and some that need be done in concert. Most people will tell you that the stock 5.0's breathing suffers on both the intake side and the exhaust, but moreso in the former.

The guys on corral.net say that the single biggest improvement lies in the lower intake, which has badly varied cfm numbers between runners (#'s 1 & 5 are the worst flowing). Solution would be to either port the lower or swap out the whole intake for one with more even flow. For the money, there is a corral regular in FL named Tom Moss (tmoss on corral) who will port your lower for $100 plus shipping that's hard to beat. He had the one I bought from him flowed (not yet installed) and the cfm increased on all runners and variation went from an awful 40+ between best and worst to something like 9. More even flow = happier engine.

To further boost the output, the next step would be a combo of CAI, bigger MAF (Pro-Flow.com) and throttle body (65/70mm; TB too big=overkill & worsened throttle response) and maybe 1.7 ratio roller rockers to replace the 1.6 stockers. Can try to find a used Ford TB and RR, usually pretty cheap, but be wary of used MAFs since they are usually setup for a specific engine configuration. again, see corral.net windsor forums for the pitfalls.

To add still more power, have to change cams and or heads to help improve the exhaust side of things. $$$$, though aluminum heads do help lighten the front end. The stock cam reportedly can make respectable HP and has OEM drivability. Michael Yount has coached me towards Y303 heads which I have yet to install but will stick with stock cam bumping 1.7 RRs. Also will stay with 19# injectors as they are said to be able to support up to ~300 HP which should be enough for me in my old wagon.

Sorry if I rambled but hope it helps somehow. Congrats on the car from George and welcome to the fold. -Boozer
