I did the same thing on my 240 and the result is really good. I have 215/40-17" Toyos and the steering effort is not too bad. I also have a quick ratio rack and pinion installed.
I've had some issues with the belt slipping over the alternator pulley(not enough "wraparound") but I solved it with another idler pulley and using Goodyear gatorback poly belts. This is fairly common with the March conversion.
