Chevy V8 cams....

I'd be very careful - with all stock components, with most aftermarket cams there's not a whole lot to be gained on the top end, and the bottom end performance can really suffer with the different camshaft. I think you'd be better off spending money trying to free up the intake/exhaust side of things, and perhaps the heads - than to change out the cam first.
