Sputtering and difficult start -- then OK 850 1996

Susan drove up to Lawrence, Kansas, for a weekend of folkdancing and when she was ready to come home, her car wouldn't start and she eventually ran the battery down trying.
Finally Tuesday morning after Memorial day I went up with the V70 and jumper cables and it started right up. Not wanting any more "intermittent", we drove across to Vern's Import Service in Merriam Kansas (a KC suburb, SHAMELESS PLUG!!) and left it with him. Turned out I was right, it was the el cheapo MAF Sensor. It was hard to diagnose because sometimes it would be fine and sometimes not. Vern finally put the sensor on his own S70 and it made it run rotten. Because of time constraints, he got one from Superior Volvo in KC for about $225. Made all the difference in the world. Vern also diagnosed and fixed a few other nagging problems also. GREAT GUY!!
