I can only guess if the engine was 'warm' when your daughter first tried to start it at Wally World. Fouled plugs will do that when the engine is running too rich.
It is possible that the fuel pressure regulator is leaking. The fuel pressure should be above 39 and below 43lbs. If the FPR is bad, the pressure will be a little lower as gasoline is poured into the intake manifold. A good indicator is hard starting when cold (10 seconds in the start position).
Also check the PCV valve. If the screen is still in there, throw it away.
As to the MAF, you get what you pay for. Finding a replacement in a pick&pull is better than most generics.
