Well, check the plugs, how black are they? The O2 sensor going might make the engine rich, blacken your plugs and cause easy flooding/ no start for few minutes...

"Weird organic smell" makes me wonder if maybe you got some bad gas.

I'm assuming no codes are showing.

Can you get up to Autozone and loan-a-tool fuel pressure gauge?

Also, when was her fuel filter last changed?

And finally, is this the first occurrence, and has it happened since or a one-time thing?
