Timing Belt Failure?!?!! S70 1998

As I understand timing belt if it breaks the cam wouldn't move, the starter would move very fast (as no resistance) and nothing should happen.

Not to say your timing belt might not be acting up but also look elsewhere. If it is timing belt... sorry about your loss.

Had something similar with my 245, ended up being a cracked rotor. Burning rubber smell might mean more electrical, like wire insulation burned through some where.

Maybe get a code reader and see what codes you have...
