Do not use Mercron or Dextron of any kind. You have to use the Volvo ATF or the Mobil-3309 that I mentioned. If you don't, you'll screw up your transmission. The dip stick isn't at or near the airbox...I'm talking about under, way under the air intake hose (sort of flat one) that brings in air from the front of the car, near the grill. Hope this helps. You may have to move the large hose out of the way to see...it's on the driver's side.
