850 replacement 850 1997

Honda is making some pretty good deals on new V-6 Accords right now. I replaced my '96 850 with an '03 Accord and so far don't regret the choice. Even the 4 cylinder Accord is a quick enough car if you are willing to drive the manual transmission version.

The S60 is IMO overpriced for what it is. The back seat is too small to be comfortable for adults on long trips. As such it is a step backwards from the 850/S70.

Another interesting choice is the Acura TSX, which is basically a highly trimmed version of the European Accord with a little tighter suspension. Acura has refined suspension tuning well beyond what Volvo has figured out IMO. It has a more comfortable back seat area than does an S60. The Honda/Acura Navigation system is much better than those Volvo offers.
