Never seen this happening on any '90's plus cars let alone an 850. Common problem during the '70's though. Where do you live? Are you in the acid rain belt? What kind of car wash do you do? Yourself or car wash service? If you do it yourself what products do you use? There's not much of an "in between" paint jod. It's either the Sheib/Maaco/One Day or the $1000 plus. The extra cost of good paint doesn't really add that much to the final cost. It's all the correct prep time that adds up. Without proper prep cleaning, sanding, etc the paint job won't last. You have to properly get ALL of the old clearcoat off before you repaint or it's just going to keep on degrading. Think of it as a Christmas present.
