Sorry, but if the clear coat is gone the car needs to be repainted. Find a reputable paint/collision shop and start asking for quotes. You will save some money by removing the trim yourself, but not a lot. The Earl Shieb method does not remove ANY trim and looks like what you pay for it. Insist on OEM color so that the underside of the hood, engine bay, and door panels will be the exact match.
