Oh, before I forget, I'll list some other symtoms. The car has just over 100K miles on it. The reverse lights are spotty, sometimes they come on, sometimes they don't. It flashes the "dreaded orange up arrow" when its having transmission troubles. Lately it has also been downshifting out of overdrive (?) while cruising on the highway, causing the RPM's to jump signifigantly. At least that's what it sounds/feels like its doing. I was reading in one of the other threads, but it didn't have an answer to my question, what is a "PNP switch" and what does rowing the shifter with the ignition on but engine off do to help it? I guess I'll go look in my Haines manual for a bit...
The local indie import shop was no help, all they could suggest was maybe it needed a new transmission. Unfortuneately, the shop has new owners. The old owner certainly could have helped me... >:(
