timing belt replacement question V70-XC70 1999

Albert,
Canadian winters are a bit tough on the belt. It will probably be "crazed", but if there are any long, 2-5cm cracks, then I suggest you replace it. You could gamble and wait until 160Km and another 4 years, but if you loose...
Get a local mechanic to check it out. You could take off the cover before he looks at it to save him some time. Make sure he knows what a 5 cylinder Volvo engine is all about.
