Power steering failure? 850 1995

A strut bushing can be simply checked by trying to turn the large nut at the top of the strut tower clockwise. If it turns easily, you need a new bushing. If not, all is good.

To check the PS pump, start the engine and slowly remove the cap on the PS fluid bottle. The fluid should be moving, at least slowly at idle. The more strain you put on the PS pump by turning, the faster the fluid will flow. Please, the fluid is not good for your eyes.

If the problem is with a steering knuckle, lifting the front off the ground will also remove any tension on the knuckle. Using a degreaser like WD40 is not the best solution, but it does work. I would follow up with a spray on grease after the WD40 dries a little.
