How to flush the tranny? 850

Thanks for the info.
It doesn't look like too bad a job. Except I can't make out from the pictures what that clamps is about. Is it just an ordinary snap ring, and why do people put a tie
wrap or hose clomp over it?

I got two gallons of Walmart Super Tech Dextron-III/Mercon.
Is that the wrong stuff?

Will I need to drain some fluid to use the tranny treatment stuff?Is it a pint or quart.
Now there's 3" of snow in the driveway and 25F, I'll pray for a good day to do this.
