my aging 850... switch to a 98 v70? 850

my 1995 850 NA wagon has 220k miles and really runs pretty good. the dash is looking a little old but everything works except...

my transmission gave up hard about 5k miles ago, my local independant shop swapped it out for a used one, it worked great for 2-3 months, now the replacement went bad, my local shop is putting ANOTHER used tranny in for nothing since it was such a recent event(really an awesome shop and great owner)

anyhow... now i am thinking about a replacement for my 850, should i stick it out and go for the world record for 850 wagon hi-milage or jump over to another volvo wagon?

what would you do?
i have found a couple of 850's and early v70 that look reasonable.
