BD, get yourself a new/used instrument panel dimmer switch. And you are quite right, the seats are more comfortable than the 2001+ cars!!

You could also try a 3oz can of stop leak for the AC and top it off with a can or 2 of r134a. Who knows, it might even stop up the leak in the evaporator.
