The glass must sit in the frame properly, it is a safety device and part of the structure of the roof. There is no installation compromise.

I believe the maker of OEM glass is Pinkerton, and it does not matter if the glass says Volvo on it (which makes it very expensive).

I hope you get this issue resolved, I wouldn't want the glass to pop out when you come to a sudden stop or hit a pot hole.
