I did a quick look on the Wisconsin DOT website and although it doesn't say chains are illegal, it also doesn't say anything as far as them BEING legal. If you want, I can send you the phone number for the State Police. Unless we have a raging blizzard while you're here, I don't foresee you having any problems in the 'Nort Woods."

Of course, living here my whole life I know about how much I can bend the rules and still get away with it (usually).

As for the northern states prohibiting the use of chains and studs... that's our way of saying if you can't drive in this climate then move! Now that I'm used to snowy roads again, I can set my cruise at 60 and think nothing of it. Blizzaks are a wonderful invention.
