My bad, I thought the Konis you got were the double adjustable ones. Firming up compression should yield some of that shifting of weight towards the back end of the car...I am unsure whether or not stiffer rebound will do the trick though so you're probably right. But if you go stiffer on the front without touching the rears, you're bound to increase understeer--remember, body roll isn't a terrible thing, it doesn't need to be eliminated to make your car go fast in the turns. I still think you need to look into messing with the rear end more to get some good results--understeer is your enemy. I know that a lot of FWD racers actually get larger swar bars in the rear end and actually use the stock front bar to create that weight shifting and use the rear end more effectively. Some go so far as disconnecting the front bar altogether!
