My PCV and My New 850 850 1997

Before you repl the oil separator, remove the PCV valve next to the throttle body. If there is a plastic screen in it, throw it away. Then check the small vacuum lines and make sure they are free of sludge.

If you drive this car a lot, get a bottle of AutoRx and add it to the engine oil. You need to be using dino motor oil, not synthetic. Follow the directions on the bottle and drive the car for at least 1,000 miles. The AutoRx should clean all of the sludge out of the engine as well as the PCV. You can tell it is working by looking at the cam under the oil filler cap, the brown residue will disappear.

Don't worry about the rear main seal. Unless it is leaking like crazy, it can be resealed by removing the presure in the crankcase.

If the Cam seals fail, usually the rear exhaust, that can be easily replaced.
