winter mode overnight in cold weather

Hey Klaus

Thank you for the Nov 22 post. Hope you - and all the Brickboard members - had a good Thanksgiving. Saw your post today, am logged in and able to write in only now later.

Car running fine. Ran 1/3 tank of fuel in E mode, seemed to return 22mpg. Not so great, have tanked and returned to S mode. We shall see.

I will have another go at reading Trans. codes, maybe even stop in at the dealer. Have not disconnected the batt. this car, am worried that the radio won't work thereafter. Will check the manual this issue.

Turning radius: yes sizable difference; 740 turns around 180 deg. on resident. street, V70 does not quite make it. Share your assessment, the V70 front weight and also slippery shape make it great on the open road. Also the AWD came to the fore in recent snow, streets were slushy, car u-turned on a steeply crowned side street, got the front end down deep into the gutter, with no difficulty, would not have tried that with the 740, would have been stuck crossways in the street.

Saw a cabin filter video, looks feasible if weather warms.

Yes, the fresh ATF seems to have done more good than expected on the car (!). Sorry for disjointed text this post everyone. Thanks Klaus and everybody else posting.
