Hi Klaus!
Yes, it was a donor b5234 T3 head. It has exhaust cam vvt like my b5254 T. It is same except for two things: valve stem size is 6mm not 7mm, and head gasket has two slots fewer. I was lucky to find it though. It came from the very Southern part of New Zealand, taking delivery over one week train and truck.
I don't know why I have new problems with the car though it might be because it was sitting so long or else my thoughtlessness: I have a large clunk now. When I change into reverse, just when the car moves off, from the angle gear area, down there somewhere, a large piece slips out of engagement. That is what is feels like - there is a low clunk sound which is mixed with another, a sound similar to a seal popping under pressure. Maybe it is a rubber piece that rubs onto and then around a metal surface.
I made one foolish error I made around there: Approx 1/2 cup of boiling water may have gotten into the flywheel case. I did attempt to dry (hair dryer) and also sprayed up to ten seconds of CRC/WD40 in the case. I also let open for three days to try and evaporate.
I have been looking for flywheel diagrams to tell where water would go to if it got in there. Is a flywheel case a sealed unit?
