1. The hugely vast majority of the time,the torque converter is locked up

mechanically, and not pushing/shearing the ATF around. It's only unlocked

during shifts (you, know that non-huge fraction of a second it takes) and

while in 1st gear (I'm not sure how much of the time while in 1st gear, but

I know that ATs typically don't spend much time doing much work in 1st

gear).

2. If you're worried about the clutch packs and lockup TC clutch slipping,

then the last thing in the world you'd want would be to switch to some ATF

that's any more slippery than the Dexron for which the ATF is designed and

built!

3. Given that your car is rated to tow 1.5+ tons, and you probably never

tow that much, it's unlikely your ATF is overworked. And if it hasn't

overheated...
